George Washington Farewell Address Predictions

America's 1st Commander and Chief could be considered to be a complete opposite from its number 44. Everything George Washington did centered around making it abundantly clear of whom America should thank for its blessings. In his farewell address to the nation he eerily predicted what would happen if America strayed away from its Christian roots.
 
In fact, his words over 220 years ago describe progressives such as President Obama as unpatriotic.

In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. ... Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."

A government that has shut away God in everything possible. However, the attack on Christianity has gone well above and beyond separation of church and state and progressives have successively made it socially acceptable to persecute Christians in just about every way possible; while at the same time vigorously protecting other faiths such as Islam. How in the world did it become socially acceptable to persecute the faith this great nation was founded upon and protect the faith of the those that want to destroy us?
I believe the words of one the greatest Presidents of all-time gives us some insight into how our great nation became what it is today.

We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."
 
President Reagan was right, America has spent this last generation with its back turned to God. The American people have stopped relying on God and the good-will and charities of men and started relying on the free handouts from government. This is what George Washington somehow predicted would come about if we stopped relying on God.
I am so afraid that we will be soon be "telling our children ... what it was like in the United States where men were free."
