nicknames for JesusNicknames are interesting because of what they say about a person. Nicknames can be either good or bad; they can be used as a term of endearment to build one up or as cruel name for someone who is different from others. Nicknames are used for everything! There is a nickname for every state in the United States and almost every animal has a nickname. For example, is a pig a hog? Or is it a boar, warthog, or a just a member of the Sudae family of even-toed ungulates? The point is, nicknames describe who we are as a person. The same is true for the nicknames for Jesus. Nicknames for Jesus have been given to Him by both man and God. I am most interested at who God the Father thinks Jesus is; the only way to learn this is through His Holy Word, the Bible!
