The Mystery of the Trinity

The Mystery of the TrinityMany people do not understand the mystery of the Trinity. Many people get confused about how many God(s) there are when they think of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
So ... How many God(s) do exist; is it three, two, or one? The answer is there is only One God!

Deuteronomy 6:4: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the LORD is one.
John 10:30: I and the Father are one.
But ... God is so incredible and complex that He is three persons within one wonderful God!
The Mystery of the Trinity
Matthew 28:19: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son (Jesus) and of the Holy Spirit,
However, people are also wrong when they think of one God as the contol-head of the other two persons. Even though God is one, all three persons are still separate persons from each other. Each person of God is distinct and different from the other two!
The Mystery of the Trinity
John 16:12-15: I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
The bible shows that Jesus very often talked to and made requests from His Father in Heaven. If God the Father were the control-head of all three persons, Jesus would not need to ask these things from His Father and vice-versa. God the Father would just simply make decisions for all three and it would be so. Jesus even made the distinction of His will being different from His Father's.
The Mystery of the Trinity
Luke 22:42: "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
John 17:5: And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
John 14:16: And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--
So ... If the three entities of God are separate and different from each other, what are the primary differences of the three? The answer is Jesus is the Grace of God, The Father embodies the Love for mankind, and the Holy Spirit is the Fellowship between God and man.
The Mystery of the Trinity
2 Corinthians 13:14: May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
The Apostle Paul gave us some insight into the Holy Trinity of God in his letter to the church in Ephesus. He taught us that God the Father blesses us, chooses us, adopts us, and gives us grace. Jesus the Son redeems us, forgives us, and reveals mysteries. The Holy Spirit marks us and guarantees us our inheritance from God.
The Mystery of the Trinity
Ephesians 1:3-14: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9 And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
I hope and pray this lesson on the Mystery of the Trinity was helpful. If you found it to be so, please pass on to your friends.
