Jesus Had to Become God and Man

God and ManWhen Jesus Christ our Savior walked upon this earth, he was both God and man. But ... How much of Him was God and how much was man? Why did God need to take on the human form anyway? The Bible teaches us that while Jesus was 100% a man of flesh and blood and He was also 100% God. This is Gods plan and there is a perfect explanation that God made apparent through scripture that even our feeble minds can understand.

Jesus had to be 100% God

Colossians 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
Colossians 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
It was very important that Jesus was 100% God because it allowed God the Father to reveal his plan of salvation to the world. God hid His plan of salvation to the "wise and learned" because He knew that the pride of the scholars of Jesus time (the Pharisees and Sadducees) would keep them focused only on the things of this earth. This is why Jesus' chosen disciples were not scholars of the time because the revealed truth of being God and man needed to be accepted by those with a mind-set like little children (Mat. 18:3). This was a great honor that was bestowed upon those the proud religious scholars had such contempt for; the Pharisees and Sadducees would pay with their sins and God was justified to blind them from the truth.
Matthew 18:3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
"All things have been committed to me by my Father" is a commission from God that gives Jesus equal power and glory to God the Father (Mat. 11:27).
Matthew 11:25-27 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. 27 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Jesus had to be 100% God because without it, he would not be authorized to settle the new covenant between God and man (Mat. 28:18).
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."
Only a 100% God can give eternal life to all his followers (Jn. 17:2).
John 17:2 For you granted Him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given Him.
Only a 100% God has the authority to take the mantle of judgement over from God the Father (John 5:22 & 27)
John 5:22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgement to the Son,
John 5:27 And He has given Him authority to judge because He is the Son of Man.
You see ... Jesus had to be 100% God so God the Father could execute His glorious plan of salvation for the world. God knew when He created Adam and Eve that they would fail because of the gift of free will He gave them. But ... he knew He had a plan of salvation through His Son Jesus.

God and ManJesus had to be 100% man

But ... the question still remains! Why did God need to take on human form (man) to save us from our sins? The answer is simple; God needed to share in our humanity and conquer Satan by overcoming death!
Hebrews 2:14-15 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil-- 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Some believe that Jesus was always only God and only appeared to be a man. Basically, they believe that Jesus was a "wolf in sheep's clothing!" This is totally against scripture teachings, the Bible says that Jesus had to made like his brothers in every way in order to make atonement for their sins.
Hebrews 2:17 17 For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Another undeniable truth to Jesus' humanity is the truth that He was born from a woman. The miraculous conception between the Holy Spirit and Mary has to be the greatest miracle this world has ever or ever will know.
It is my personal belief that the moment of conception between The Holy Spirit and Mary was the moment that God and Man finally became ONE through the new human (man) creation of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Luke 2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
God and Man
Jesus is 100% God and Man
There is no question about it! Jesus is 100% God and man! A God could not die and sacrifice Himself on the Cross of Cavalry for our sins and a man cannot have the authority as the "Great Mediator" between God the Father and mankind on the day of judgement and save us from our sins! This is why Jesus had to be 100% of both!
