The Holy One Wasn't Holier Than Thou

Jesus the Almighty Holy One Son of God did not act holier than thou. The One that knew-it-all did not act like a know-it-all. Just think about how easy it would have been for Jesus to be a "Show-off", but chose to use His powers only for good. He could have easily used His limitless wisdom to be the smartest and most powerful man in the world, but only used His wisdom to spread the message of the never-ending love of God. Jesus was the one person that lived on earth that had everything, but chose to give everything; to include His life for us on Cavalry for our sins.

He simply showed-up and did the will of His God the Father. Not only did the Holy One not act Holier than thou, He made Himself the ultimate servant of mankind by offering Himself fully as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. The Holy One had the power to do anything, but allowed His flesh to be whipped, torn, pierced, and put to death by the ones whom needed Him the most!

The obvious answer would be because it would be sinful, but I think there is another reason. I believe it's because Jesus was a likable person that enjoyed the company of other people. Just think about it! No one likes a "Show-off." In fact, most people find them repulsive. Jesus not only loved us, but liked being around and interacting with others. I believe Jesus was what we would call a "party-lover."

After all, why did Jesus turn the water into wine at the wedding? He didn't have to, but chose to for some reason. Maybe it was because He was having a good time and wanted the party to continue. Jesus wasn't a stick-in-mud serious type. Even the Pharisees accused Him of eating, drinking, and spending too much time with sinners. He didn't just do this to reach the lost, He also did it because He enjoyed it!

When did we start believing that Christians had to be solemn and not have any fun? I believe that Christians should have more fun than anyone. Afterall, we have so much to celebrate!

Just think! Once we are done celebrating here on Earth, we will continue celebrating forever in Heaven with the Holy One that wasn't Holier than Thou!
