I know, I know! The Christmas season is crazy and very expensive! Absolutely 100% of every penny is used in support of the work of missionaries all around the world. According to the International Mission Board (IMB) website, the Lottie Moon Christmas offering has made it possible for missionaries to preach the gospel millions of times and led hundreds of thousands of lost souls to salvation through Jesus Christ. The best part is God's work does not end when the missionary comes home. These missionaries have started thousands of new churches that continue to grow and bring more people to salvation every day. I firmly believe that there is no better way to spend your money during the Christmas Season. After all, salvation was the reason why Jesus came to earth in human form to die for our sins. I can't think of a better way to celebrate God's plan of salvation than to financially support the missionaries in their God-given commission to bring the Good News to every corner of the world. According to the IMB, their offering was named after Lottie Moon because, "Throughout her career, Lottie Moon wrote numerous letters home, urging Southern Baptists to greater missions involvement and support. One of those letters triggered Southern Baptists' first Christmas offering for international missions - enough to send three new missionaries to China."
