Transgender Bathroom Rights

Transgender Bathroom Rights

Transgender Bathroom Rights
What in blazes is the world coming to? Did you know there is a hot national debate on transgender bathroom rights? There is growing support that America’s laws are not fair to those that believe they are a different gender than what is on their birth certificate. Liberal attorneys and lawyers are pushing legislature that changes the current laws on the books to allow transgender people to choose which bathroom to use.

I am sure there are transgender people out there that do feel as if they are discriminated against and many may be uncomfortable using the bathroom with the same-sex as listed on their birth certificate, but I have news for them.

Transgender Bathroom Rights
I too, sometimes feel uncomfortable about using a public bathroom because I know that gay men can legally walk right in and stalk whomever they want. Maybe other men can relate with me on this; I know I am not the first guy that knew some gay guy was in the bathroom checking him out. One may ask, “How do you know he is gay?” and I would admit is hard to prove. But, sometimes the way someone dresses and talks is enough to make you 99% sure. All that matters is we know it happens, but we learn to live with it.

I submit that the proposal to allow transgender people into the bathroom of their choosing is completely fair as long as I get a bathroom that is for “straight” people only! Of course, this would have to apply to both males and females. Then, we would need bathrooms for those that are “gay” only because there may be some that feel uncomfortable being in a bathroom with straight people. While we are at it, how about bathrooms just for the transgender and other bathrooms only for transgender and gays. Of course, all these ideas are ridiculous because all of them are unenforceable.

In a complicated society such as ours, we all know that we will never make everyone happy. The only course of action is the best one, the one that makes the most sense for the majority of the people. Most Americans are straight people and transgender people make up a very small percentage of our population. So, why in the world are we going to allow such a small percentage of people the legal authority to “peep” and make good God-fearing people such as myself very uncomfortable in public bathrooms?

Transgender Bathroom RightsEven as a liberal woman, you can’t tell me you would not think it would be a little creepy if someone who is clearly a guy that thinks he is a girl walks into the bathroom and starts talking to you while you are relieving yourself. You may not even have to see him to know because the baritone in his voice is unlike any other woman you have heard before and suggest that he could only be a man. Heck, some woman I know would immediately scream and run out of the bathroom. Some others would probably kick him in the groin and hit him over the head with their purse and call him a “pervert!” Personally, I think he deserves the latter.

World's First Video Games

Willy Higginbotham
The first video game was invented by Willy Higginbotham. Willy was no teenage computer wizkid, however. In the early 1940s he worked on advanced radar displays for B28 bombers and went on to work for the Manhattan Project where he designed the timing mechanism for the first atomic bomb. In 1958, bored by the displays of the Brookhaven National Labs annual open-day exhibition, Willy designed a tennis game simulation, the world’s first video game. It was called Tennis For Two. Willy did not take out a patent but even if he had the royalties would have been paid to the US government.
Game development on main frame computers continued through the years, with Spacewar! being one of thefirst and certainly one of the most known games. Launched in 1962, it was programmed on a DEC PDP-1 by Steven Russell.

Galaxy Game

The first game console was called the Brown Box, created by Ralph Baer in 1966 to control a video home console ping-pong game. Baer sold the console to Magnavox Odyssey and went on to design the first game light gun for the Shooting Gallery game.

The first coin-operated video arcade game, Galaxy Game, was launched in September 1971 by Bill Pitts and Hugh Tuck. However, it was beaten to the commercial market by Computer Space, launched two months later by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. In November 1972 Bushnell launched PONG for his Atari company. It would become the first significantly successfull coin-operated video arcade game. Atari would continue with releases, including the famous Asteroids shooting game (pictured), legandary amongst ardent arcade gamers.
The Woz, breakout, and jail break
Before Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak created the Apple computer in 1976, they designed a popular arcade game for Atari called Breakout. By then, Steve “the woz” Wozniak was already famous as a white-hat hacker, bypassing phone systems – known as phone phreaking – to make make free long distance calls.
The woz went on to concentrate on computers but it is rather apt that the company he co-owns returned to the phone market in such a big way in the form of the iPhone, launched in July 2007. One can only smile that the title of their early game resembles the terminology for hacking the iPhone; jail break.

The other game guys
During this time of exciting arcade game development, another famous computer personality had other programs on his mind. In his early years Bill Gates (b. 1955) formed a company to sell a computerized traffic counting system to cities, making $20,000 its first year. Business dropped sharply when customers learned Gates was only 14 years old. By the time he was 17, Gates had partnered with Paul Allen to form a new venture and, when he was 20, they launched Microsoft (at first spelled with a hyphen: Micro-Soft). It was this company that would create the most played computer games – PC, not arcade – of all time: the card games that come pre-installed on Windows operating systems.
All said and done, none of the above mentioned computer geniuses developed the very first coin operated system or the very first graphical computer game. The latter was created in 1952 by Alexander S Douglas. It was, and still is, called OXO, also known as Noughts and Crosses, or simply as a Tic-Tac-Toe game. The first coin-operated system of any kind was developed in the first century by Hero of Alexander – it was used to dispense holy water.

Illness that Grows Human Nails Instead of Hair

Shanyna Isom Thought to Be the Only Person in the World to Suffer Condition Where Human Nails Grow Instead of Hair
Shanyna wears a wig because all of hair is replaced by nails.

Strange but True!

Illness that Grows Human Nails Instead of Hair

Illness that Grows Human Nails Instead of Hair

In 2009, Shanyna Isom, had an allergic reaction to an asthma medication which lead to an uncontrollable itch and quickly developed into hard bumps all over her body.

It took doctors over two years to figure out that she had a never before diagnosed disease that causes her hair follicles to grow the same type of dead skin as finger or toe nails instead of hair.

It has been more than a year now since all of her hair has been replaced with the nails and she is believed to be the only person in the world with this condition.

Doctors have gotten her symptoms under control through the use of 17 medications, but it still takes help from friends or family for her to get up in the morning and start her day. Due to many of the medication not being covered by state-issued insurance, she has accumulated over $250,000 in medical costs.

If you want to help, the S.A.I. foundation set up a fund to help her with the medical costs.

Bank of America was Bank of Italy

Bank of America was Bank of Italy
On October 17, 1904, Amedeo Giannini, a son of an Italian immigrant to the United States opened the Bank of Italy in a converted saloon in San Francisco. On the first day, the bank collected 28 deposits with a value of $8,780.

Bank of America was Bank of Italy
After an earthquake destroyed the bank in 1907, the bank was running from a plank in the street. The word “bank” came from the Italian word “banca”, which means “a bench or counter.” His “bank” services was an instant success and quickly became popular. In 1928, Giannini changed the name to Bank of America and several branches were soon opened. By 1929, the bank was strong enough to withstand the Great Depression stock crash.   Bank of America would soon become one of the largest financial institutions in the world, but due to poor management, had to receive a government bailout in 2008.

Budweiser Beer Named After Czech town!

Drinking is not a sin ... Getting Drunk is!

1 Timothy 5:23 "Don't drink only water. You ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often."

Ephesians 5:18 "Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin you life."

Budweiser Beer Named After Czech town! Many know that European beers are commonly named after the town the brewery is located. For example, Pilsners are named after the town of Plzen and Licher is named after the German town of Lich; but many do not know that Budweiser is named after a beer brewed in Bömische Budweis breweries in a Czech town with the German name of Budweis. The name Budweiser is the locative meaning “of Budweis.” In 1876, Adolphus Busch was inspired by the beer and took the recipe and the name halfway around the world to the good ole U.S.A. The “Budweiser” brand was so popular that other brewing companies also made “Budweiser”. Some of these companies you may recognize are Miller, Schlitz and Dubois. Dubois was the last to stop making “Budweiser” in the late 1970s.

What do You Think This Alleged Monster is?

What do You Think This Alleged Monster is?
My News Limerick:
New York's East River washed up a  beast,
It is quite the mystery, to say the least,
Quite undeniable,
It's undefinable,
Let's bury it and thank God it's deceased!

Quote of the Day:
"When he is best, he is a little worse than a man; and when he is worst, he is a little better than a beast." William Shakespeare (1564-1610), The Merchant of Venice, Act I, sc. 2

Commentary:
Oh my goodness! What the heck is this thing? The popular "Rivers Monsters" star Jeremy Wade said this:

What do You Think This Alleged Monster is?
"From my previous incarnation as a biology teacher I can say it's not a pig: pigs have characteristic cloven feet, which this animal hasn't got. The teeth also look wrong for a pig. From the picture it's hard to get a sense of scale — some kind of rodent would be my guess, and it's common for dead bodies to swell in water, which can give them a grotesque appearance, not to mention crabs etc. Partially eating soft parts of the face. Not to be ruled out, but unlikely in this case, is the assembly of hybrid animals by taxidermists, from bits of several unrelated creatures. This practice used to be popular in Japan, and I once saw a shrine dedicated to such an animal, not that I'm suggesting that should be the fate of this unfortunate beast."

What do you think it is?

Can You Guess How Much Two Young Entrepreneurs Earned Running a Lemonade Stand?

Can You Guess How Much Two Young Entrepreneurs Earned Running a Lemonade Stand?
My News Limerick:
Marcus and Christopher wanted to go to a show,
But didn't have enough money for their family to go,
Without anyone's consent,
They earned every red cent,
Now have plenty to travel and some to blow!

Quote of the Day:
"I'm convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance. Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

Can You Guess How Much Two Young Entrepreneurs Earned Running a Lemonade Stand?
Commentary:
Man, perseverance is a true statement when describing these two young entrepreneurs; but another word comes to my mind when I think about what they have accomplished. I call it a true "American Spirit". These two young men just taught every America a very important life lesson. That is success comes through hard work, determination, and ingenuity.

What would most kids do if they needed money? Most would go ask their parents! In comparison, what do many Americans do when they need money or assistance. They go to the government for a handout.

Can You Guess How Much Two Young Entrepreneurs Earned Running a Lemonade Stand?
The lesson learned here is this; these two young boys understood that in order to find a way to accomplish their goal of traveling to Dallas, they need to find a way to make the money on their own. With a little thought and a lot of ingenuity they accomplished this goal through none other than a simple lemonade stand. They worked 11 hour days for a few weeks and earned over 2,000 dollars. Enough the finance the trip and plenty left over which they plan to donate to charity.

Can You Guess How Much Two Young Entrepreneurs Earned Running a Lemonade Stand?
If more Americans would learn this valuable lesson. They too could reap the rewards of hard work and ingenuity. America can no longer be the mommy and daddy of poor Americans. One can argue that many with disabilities or the elderly need government assistance and I believe this statement is true. But, those that are physically and mentally able should not receive handouts from hard-working Americans like me.

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor
My News Limerick:
There once was a stuffed cat quadrotor,
Orvillecopter” was built to soar,
Killed by a car,
Now a furry flying star,
Will PETA like or totally deplore?

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor
Quote of the Day:
“Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was suspect.”
Steven Wright(1955 - )

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor
Story and Commentary:
Dutch artist, Bart Jansen, has created “Orvillecopter”. A quadrotordrone made from his dead cat. “Orvillecopter” is the “Terminator” of the cat taxidermy world. It’s half taxidermy and half remote-controlled Lotus T580. This half cat and half machine were named after Orville Wright of the famous Wright Brothers.

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor
Orvillecopter may have been killed by a car, but instead of going six feet under he went to the skies. Spending afterlife chasing birds, dogs, cattle, and any other critters his owner chooses for him.

What does PETA think of this? Is this animal cruelty or a true form of love between cat and owner?

Just think, if there is a cat spirit. Is it possible that the spirit will be able to see through the eyes of the deceased?

"Orvillecopter" the Quadrotor
Probably not, but I do not have a problem with this. I think Bart Jansen found a unique and creative way to memorialize his late friend.

Arby's Urinal Malfunction Makes McDonald's Coffee Burn Look Like Child's Play

Arby's Urinal Malfunction Makes McDonald's Coffee Burn Look Like Child's Play
My Limerick News:
There once was a man from Colorado,
An Arby’s fan he is no mo,
A urinal malfunction,
While performing a bodily function,
Burned his ‘Willie’ and full of woe!

Famous Quote:
“See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time.”
Robin Williams (1951 - )

The Story and Commentary:
Arby's Urinal Malfunction Makes McDonald's Coffee Burn Look Like Child's PlayKenneth DeJoie filed a lawsuit against Arby’s. Why? He claims that while he was doing his business in the urinal, there was a malfunction and a hot “jet of steam” shot out and scalded his genitals.

Of course, he immediately complained to an employee and this was the response, “We have that bathroom problem again,”

Arby's Urinal Malfunction Makes McDonald's Coffee Burn Look Like Child's Play
DeJoie’s complaint charges that the management knew about the plumbing problem, but failed to do anything about it.

DeJoies wife also joined the suit by claiming that she has suffered a loss of consortium.

All I have to say is this; this suit sure beats the heck out of the McDonald’s coffee burn lawsuit. Speaking from a man’s point of view, I believe Dejoies has one heck of a case and if these allegations are true, he truly deserves reparation.

UFO Next to the Sun?

Something spotted in a NASA snapshot,
A possible UFO in a very hot spot,
Very close to the Sun,
Doesn’t look like much fun,
These aliens are crazier than what we thought!

Obadiah 1:4 (ESV)
“Though you soar aloft like the eagle, though your nest is set among the stars, from there I will bring you down, declares the Lord.”

“How would it be if we discovered that aliens only stopped by earth to let their kids take a leak?”
Jay Leno (1950 - )

The Story
UFO fans are exited over a potential “spot” found in an image taken from NASA’s Solar and Hemispheric Observatory. It is described as something that does not look like “anything ever spotted near the sun” before.

Gather News asked this,

“The unidentified flying object, which bears no resemblance to anything ever spotted near the Sun, somehow manages to withstand the blazing heat thrown off by solar flare activity and the incredibly high temperatures emanating from the nuclear fusion generated on the surface of the star. What is it?”

Here are some excited UFO YouTube comments,

“The video shows what looks like a metallic, jointed spaceship with a gigantic extension, perhaps a boom arm, anchored off its lower end.”

“An enlargement of the object makes the enormously large UFO look like a ship straight out of a Hollywood movie.”

Some have raised the possibility that the SOHO instruments caused a distortion.

What are your thoughts? Is this a UFO or a sensor distortion?

Government Controls over Home-Brew

Government Controls over Home-BrewHome-brewed beer is quickly becoming popular with many people. More than just drinking it at home, they also enjoy sharing with fellow friends at festivals and entering tasting competitions. This new interest has focused attention on long-forgotten alcohol laws, most of which date back to Prohibition. These laws make it illegal to share alcohol outside the brewer’s home and could “pretty much be the end of competitions in Wisconsin,” “At least legally ones.” one Wisconsin citizen says. Recently, these old laws have been rarely enforced, but beer enthusiasts fear they could criminalize the rapidly growing hobby and make the many annual tasting events that bring tourists to small towns illegal.
Government Controls over Home-Brew
The Brewers may have some hope in Wisconsin. The State Legislature passed a bill last week that will allow them to transport homemade beer and wine and share with other adults, but will not be allowed to sell for profit. They will remain exempt from permit requirements and taxes. The bill is expected to be signed into law by Governor Walker.

The American Homebrewers Association in Boulder, CO says there are at least 17 other states that have similar laws against home brewers. These rules can be very frustrating and difficult for brewers to learn and understand. They want to spend more time enjoying their hobby and less worrying about which states have what laws and such.

Government Controls over Home-BrewDan Grady of the Wisconsin Homebrewers Alliance warns other beer-makers of a danger. He says states may try and use this issue to generate money for the state. “States are under enormous pressure. It’s a revenue issue,’ he said. “Everything is on the table these days.”

The director of the home brewers association, Gary Glass, said it’s a balancing act when considering whether to pursue a change in the law. “The question becomes, at what point does a home brewing community want to take on having the law changed if it’s not really having an impact to what they’re doing?” “In this economy, you’re stifling an industry that’s growing,” he said. “It sounds like a bad move.” Government Controls over Home-Brew

Many people with little or no experience brewing beer are buying kits and making beer on their own. It has turned into a beer culture of people sharing their concoctions with their neighbors and friends in clubs and competitions. Just last year, the home brewers association along with the Beer Judge Certification Program hosted more than 411 beer competitions. Jason Heindel, president of the Beer Barons of Milwaukee Cooperative said, “Back in the day, everybody thought home brewing would just be what your grandfather would do,” The boom of home brewing has increased sales to brewing supply shops all over the country.

Home brewing was illegal until the federal government lifted Prohibition-era restrictions on making alcohol in the home. The revised law leftmost alcohol regulations up to the individual states. Many states still have laws on the books that supersede federal policies. Many home brewers have been caught by surprise with these laws and had to conduct their beer tasting competition privately. Many still live in fear of reprisals from these rules.

Proverbs 20:1 (ESV)
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”

“All right, brain, you don't like me, and I don't like you, but let's just get me through this, and I can get back to killing you with beer.” Matt Groening (1954 - ), The Simpsons
