Jack White Defends Capitalism

It is good to see a rock star with a level head on his shoulders. Most musicians put down businesses and profits, but not Jack White of White Stripes, he actually defends capitalism. That is what I call a 'breath of fresh air', because it is quite rare.

Recently, White expressed his frustrations with Third Man Records because they put out a limited print of records and sold them for too low of a price. Dozens of the low-priced records were bought in bulk and "flipped" on eBay for hundreds of dollars.

Forbes recently said this:

"Third Man Records, puts out limited prints of records in order to meet customer demand 'to be involved in collecting rare and interesting vinyl.' There is a problem with this though. If you make something rare and valuable, the market price will be high."

"But White realized that 1)if customers want rare and valuable albums they will be expensive, 2)the market price will be reached no matter what they sell them for initially, and 3) if someone is going to profit it might as well be the creators,".

White decided to let the market demand dictate what people would pay for the records through auctions. He found out that people were willing to pay up to $300 for a "rare" vinyl.

After White started doing this, people complained that the auctions were "exploitative", but White defended his capitalist approach by saying this:

"We sell a Wanda Jackson split record for 10 bucks, the eBay flipper turns around and sells it for 300... If 300 is what it's worth, then why doesn't Third Man Records sell it for 300? If we sell them for more, the artist gets more, the flipper gets nothing. We're not in the business of making flippers a living. We're in the business of giving fans what they want... Make no mistake, we could make twenty thousand split color whatever for you, and they'll be worth 20 bucks, and you'll pay 20 bucks for them, and you'll never talk about them, desire them, hunt to find them, etc. why should eBay flippers, who are not real fans, dictate the price, make all the profit (taken from the artist and the label) and take the records out of the hands of real fans. There's a guy who waits in a black SUV down the block from Third Man who hires homeless people to go buy him tri-colors when they are on sale. Doesn't even get out of his car. Should he be charged ten bucks or two hundred? Don't be spoiled, don't insult people who are trying to give you what you want... Don't get mad at Third Man for giving you exactly what you've asked for, and seriously stop all of the whining, because what you communicate to us is that all of the trouble we go to isn't worth it because nothing we do will make you happy."

Why anyone in Hollywood or Show Businesses is against capitalism is beyond my understanding. If it wasn't for capitalism, none of them would be the rich people that they are today. I am starting to think the H in Hollywood stands for Hypocrisy!

My Commentary:

Shortly after actor and comedian Jon Lovitz’s “bulls**t” rant against President Obama’s taxation policies went viral, Zombie, a blogger for PJ Media, posted the “Lovitz Curve” theory. Named after the famous “Laffer Curve,” the “Lovitz Curve” theory is that rich leftist such as Will Smith are comfortable with taxation and paying their “fair share” only up to a certain point. That point is the “Lovitz Curve.”

Liberal thinking really does “blow my mind!” I simply cannot understand it. Will Smith said, “America has been fantastic to me. I have no problem paying whatever I need to pay to keep my country growing.”

He said this, but clearly, his expressions showed different. Anyone could easily tell and he admitted himself that 75 percent was excessively much to pay. That is why he said, “God bless America!”

Therefore, my question to all the liberals out there is this.

How much should we pay? How much are you willing to pay? What is your “Lovitz Curve?” Should it be 50%, 60%, 70%, or more?

What exactly is the fair amount to pay?

I am constantly hearing liberals say, “The rich should pay more!” Nevertheless, I never hear anyone say how much more. Please, someone tell me, how much more should they pay?

I attest that the taxes our rich pay now are already more than fair. In fact, what they pay in taxes is in fact very unfair to our rich. The average rich person in America pays about 35% right now.

Now compare this to the fact that approximately 50% of Americans pay nothing in taxes or actually make money off tax refunds.

The only way to make taxes fair would be to implement a Flat Tax. Only when every American pays an equal percentage in taxes will they finally be fair.

Of course, liberals will tell you that a flat tax is not fair for many different reasons.

They will say the rich do not need all that money and we should “redistribute the wealth” to the poor.

I would then say, “What do you think the rich does with all that excess money?”

The fact is most of them will invest the money back into the economy and create jobs. So, what happens when taxes take away large portions of these excesses? The rich stop investing and YES, you guessed it. Jobs are no longer created!

Wake up America! The liberals, the champions of the poor, are not helping you at all! In fact, they are hurting you very badly. Of course, if you want entitlements, you want Welfare, Medicare, and Obama Care. All the social programs that our country cannot afford anymore, then the Democrats are the right choice. But, understand that these programs are not helping the root cause of our #1 problem in America right now.

We need Jobs!

The Story

Some former child stars banded together to denounce actor Kirk Cameron’s views on homosexuality. He recently called it, “unnatural” and “destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”

These former stars call themselves, “Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron” or “CCOKC” for short. They filmed a spoof public service announcement challenging Kirk Cameron to “name one thing homosexuals have done to hurt him, his community or civilization as a whole.” They said, “Together we’re pledging to raise awareness about a serious threat to our civil rights – Kirk Cameron’s stupid opinions,” The group added, “We’ve met Kirk and he’s a very pleasant guy,… The problem, is he’s one of us and he should know better.”

My View

Thank God for Kirk Cameron! I only hope his message sinks into the heads of some other Hollywood dunces and puts some sense into them. He certainly has nothing to be ashamed of and should be proud to hold the belief that the majority of Americans still do today. It’s only the Liberal left that has a majority of pro-Gay beliefs in America.

Our Nation was founded on these beliefs and these Christians beliefs have made this country great. Our country is in a state of moral decay and this decay is leading to the destruction of our nation.

Kirk is absolutely right! The acceptance of Homosexuality will ruin our civilization and the country as we know it. It is only a matter of time.

I believe God blessed our nation, because we founded it on his principles. When we choose to turn from him, we will lose his blessing on this great nation of ours. Let us all pray for a spiritual awakening within our Country.

Without God, we are left to despair!

Mike Tyson says it is a Disgrace that Zimmerman wasn’t Shot!

Mike Tyson made these comments during an interview with Yahoo News. 

"My personal feeling is that, as a young kid that was beat on by a bully, that was pretty much singled out—the guy [Zimmerman] stalked him, didn't follow instructions from a superior officer, when they said, 'Stop following the kid.' That tells you everything right there. But my all-around perspective, I wasn't there, I don't know what happened. But it's just so widespread and overt what happened. Even though this is the best country in the world, certain laws in this country are a disgrace to a nation of savages. It's a majority versus a minority. That's the way God planned it. He didn't want to do something about it, He wanted us to do something about it. And if we don't, it's gonna stay this way. We have to continue tweeting, we have to continue marching, we have to continue fighting for Trayvon Martin. If that's not the case, he was killed in vain, and we're just waiting for it to happen to our children. He'll have gotten away with impunity. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been dragged out of his house and tied to a car and taken away. That's the only kind of retribution that people like that understand. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been shot yet. Forget about him being arrested–the fact that he hasn't been shot yet is a disgrace. That's how I feel personally about it."

Let us not forget that Mike Tyson was convicted of rape in 1992 and served three years in prison. George Zimmerman has not been convicted of anything yet, and people like Mike want him dead. Maybe, George Zimmerman should make a statement that Mike should be "shot," or "dragged by a car," for his rape crime. But that would be considered racist!

The support of the President and other black leaders to convict George Zimmerman without evidence is an outrage. These leaders should condemn the actions of Mike and others like the Black Panther Party. Let us see as a nation the blatant hypocrisy that is going on right in front of our eyes. These black leaders and role models are doing the same thing the KKK does against them. Someone please stop the madness in this country!

Tim Tebow draws huge crowd on Easter Sunday!

A crowd of about 15,000 came to see and hear Tim Tebow on Easter Sunday. He visited the Celebration Church in an outdoor setting about 20 miles north of Austin, Texas; the church pastor said this, “In Christianity, it’s the Pope and Tebow right now,” “We didn’t have enough room to handle the Pope.”

Many people drove hundreds of miles to hear Tebow speak. More than a hundred school buses shuttled people from nearby churches, shopping centers, and colleges. The service featured upbeat Christian songs and had an energizing appeal.
 
Here are some highlights from Tebow’s 20 minute interview with the church pastor, Joe Champion, “It’s OK to be outspoken about your faith,” He commented on how some athletes do not believe they are role models. “Yes you are. You’re just not a good one,”

Champion asked what he thought needed to change culture in America. Tebow said, “First and foremost is what this country was based on: one nation under God. The more that we can get back to that,”

Is Lady Gaga the Jezebel of our age? Can we condemn Indonesian for not allowing her any more performances in their nation? I am a freedom-loving person, but it is hard not to understand their feelings on this one. I too, worry about the youth of our country as well. Many negative influences out there such as Lady Gaga is tearing their innocence away. I do not suggest we try to block these influences, I say the morals and values of people must change. Only then will the demand for such be non-existent. It our nation’s morality downfall has allowed personalities such as Lady Gaga to launch to fame. Let us pray for our nation. Is it too late? I hope not!

What if this was Bill O’Reilly that had done this. The media would have a field day with it. I am so tired of the double-standards. Everyone makes mistakes, that is why we forgive each other; but do not act like nothing happened. Tom Hanks needs to answer for this blatant act of racial insensitivity; just like anyone conservative would. We all know this will not happen. It will be played off as some mistake or temporary loss of judgement. Which may be true, I do not believe he is racist. I just want the media to give the right the same benefit of the doubt the next time one of them slips up.
